I'm an award winning, published BMI songwriter, an accomplished musician and performer and I just happen to be living on the worlds most active volcano.
I'm proud as hell to be a sixth generation Texan. I come from a long, proud tradition of pioneers, pickers (of both stringed instruments and cotton) and outlaws, so its only natural, I suppose, that I would end up writing country music.
I've been a professional musician, a farmer, I've been a martial arts instructor..hell, I even had a job once peeling bananas at the original whole foods market in Austin, way back when. The one constant for me has always been music. It's an amazing blessing to be able to turn life's twists and turns into songs.
One of my favorite quotes is from actor Jim Carrey, he said that you're not really very interesting until you've had the shit kicked out of you, or something to that effect. I love that, and can say with confidence that, based on that criteria, I'm a pretty interesting guy and I think I've got something worth saying.
I write country, alt-country, americana, blues and rock kind of songs. I've been at this since I was about 8 years old and I'll do it until I'm in the ground. Lately, I've had the enormous pleasure of working with some truly gifted co-writers and producers that I now count as good friends. What a great adventure! One of these days your going to hear my songs coming out of your radio, until then you can hear 'em right here Stay tuned...it's about to get interesting.
